Come on! Borscht?! All the real Jews LOVE borscht. Especially the kind with pork. Delish!
Where does the country that gave the world a Big Mac, a $5 Footlong and nothing else get off criticizing the culinary wonder that is a scalding hot plate of borscht with sour cream and black pepper? Unbelievable.
I've hated borscht long before my parents decided to move the family across the Atlantic. I'd rather have a plate of boiling fecal matter. Ok, maybe not, but I'd have to think about it...
Yep, because nobody every grows out of their childhood food preferences. Seriously... Even Sholom Aleichem loved borscht. It features prominently in his work. Never seen a single ode to a Big Mac in Tevye the Milkman, though.
Thanks for doing him finally, but I am disappointed to see he is not one of us!

ReplyDeleteHey Billy, don't fret, Oscar the Grouch is Jewish (already profiled)!

I'm not, I have come to peace with it. HAHA. Glad to see we have 2 Jews on Sesame Street. (Guy Smiley, being the other)
Actually, he was Romanian. Can a jew be a count?
ReplyDeleteA rarity, but not an impossibility.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure he's not a Jew? What's he wearing on his head here? http://youtu.be/z0yjBPRKtR8

ReplyDeleteIn the number of the day, Count counts zero gefilte fish - a traditional jewish dish served on jewish occasions.
I saw a video today of the counts first day at school. He was wearing a yamaka. Doesn't that pretty much end the debate?
