  1. You should link Theo Epstein here. His relatives did write the original screenplay. But Jews in Hollywood generally didn't -- especially in those days -- like to out themselves as Jews, and doubtful that a movie with a main character who happened to be Jewish for no reason germane to the plot probably wouldn't sell tickets.

    And really, Bogey, a Jew? I don't think anyone would ever believe that one.
