  1. You could mention, efshe, that his name means "smart" in German and Yiddish. That he worked in Xray crystallography and mapped viruses three dimensionally, something that Nazis would claim Jews couldn't do because they are spatially inept. He also wisely emigrated from Lithuania at age 2 and escaped near-certain extermination. Now that's klug for a two year old.

  2. Are we quite sure Andrew Schally was a Jew? My Wikipedias say he was a son of a Brigadier General and a Polish noblewoman. Which sounds as far removed from Jews as is humanly possible.

  3. Hmmm. Wikipedia does list Schally here, with four references, three books, as well as this.

  4. He says, "I was born in Wilno, Poland on November 30, 1926, being of Polish, Austro-Hungarian, French and Swedish ancestry. [...] My life and outlook were influenced by the harsh childhood which I spent in the Nazi-occupied Eastern Europe, but I was fortunate to survive the holocaust while living among the Jewish-Polish Community in Roumania."
