  1. The pianists mentioned are from mostly from earlier generations. I can add two more of today's greatest pianists: Murray Perahia (not gay, Orthodox and Sephardi) and Helene Grimaud (not gay, Sephardi and this is interesting - has a passion for wolves)
    Yaakov from Jerusalem

  2. About time you featured him.

    There's also Daniel Barenboim (Sephardic)

  3. Nice to see you finally profile possibly the greatest pianists of the 20th Century. You guys, sadly, tend to downplay the achievements of Jewish classical musicians, but the fact is that Jews are as hugely overrepresented in music as they are in science, mathematics, literature or the arts in general. Put another way, whether you listen to a piece by Bach (Landowska), Beethoven (Schnabel, Gilels, Serkin, among many others), Chopin (Rubinstein), Liszt (Horowitz), Rachmaninoff (Ashkenazy, Horowitz, again), or even Wagner (Solti) there's a pretty good chance that one of the most celebrated performances of that work was made by a Jew. Show some pride!

Also, now that you've (finally) mentioned Martha Argerich, could you please profile her? In addition to being one of the greatest pianists of her time, she was also muy caliente.

  4. Ben, Ben, Ben, Ben, Ben. There are 2 things wrong with your question. First of all RAY CHARLES was NOT Jewish and secondly RAY CHARLES was NOT gay! P.S. You forgot Randy Newman: Jewish.

  6. Daniel Barenboïm is not Sephardic at all; he is 100% Ashkenazi.

Hélène Grimaud allegedly said once in an interview that both her parents were from Sephardic ascent, but the truth is that she is not Jewish at all.
