Interesting side note, on the show the Big Bang Theory, the character Leonard Hofstadter was supposed last named for the scientist, however show is ambiguous about the characters religion/ethnicity (the Howard Wolowitz character is the one clearly made to be Jewish).
The actor who plays Leonard, Johnny Galecki, is not Jewish in real life (the actor who plays Wolowitz, Simon Helberg, as ironically is the actress who plays his non-Jewish wife, Melissa Rauch).
You do mention Enrico Fermi (not a Jew) did you know that Fermi's wife was Jewish? That was part of the reason why he left Italy for the US.
