I was actually sure that Joy Behar was Jewish. And according to the ever-reliable Wikipedia, "she is mistakenly thought to be Jewish, and has quipped that she is pleased to be 'an honorary shiksa non-grata'."
Whew. Close one.
It's all those 90 year old borscht belt guys she has writing horrible jokes for her that makes her seem Jewish.
ReplyDeleteBehar is her husband's name, her husband is Jewish. She's Italian. A lot of Italians and Jews have some similar mannerisms, etc.
ReplyDeleteex-husband's...
ReplyDeleteHer ex-husband's name is Behar. Her current husband is the one who is Jewish. And I think it's Joy's Zionism more than her mannerisms that had people thinking she was Jewish.
ReplyDeleteBehar is a Sephardic Jewish name.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the difference Khazar?
DeleteJoy's first husband was a Sephardic Jew, and she kept his name for professional purposes. She has a long, Italian name. Her second husband is also Jewish, but I don't know his last name.
ReplyDeleteLast commentator got it right. Her second husband's name is Steve Janowitz.
