    BTW, given that article, I would doubt that he even could be a halachic Jew. Most children born to interracial relationships before, say, the 1950s, were born to black women and white men. So even if his mother is correct about having a distant Jewish ancestor, it would almost certainly be a male Jewish ancestor.
