The exclusive group of profiled actors and fictional characters they've portrayed:
And this is not including actors who portrayed real-life characters such as Kingsley/Gandhi, Robert Downey Jr./Charlie Chaplin, Mel Brooks/Torquemada(!), etc.
Just to add to Moishe's list: Dan Aykroyd, Eddie Murphy, John Belushi, Bill Murray, and (of course) Gilda Radner would make my list of consistent laugh generators on SNL.
ReplyDeleteSee... I started to watch it after those five have moved on. I'm just that much younger than you, I guess...
ReplyDeleteThey're called re-runs. Watch them.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think I did during that 9 months of unemployment back on 2001? It was SNL for breakfast, one for lunch, and then a sensible dinner. Yet somehow, Comedy Central kept repeating ad nauseum not the early years, but rather the hideous Randy Quaid / Anthony Michael Hall season... Which was so rancid, except for one thing: Jon Lovitz.
ReplyDeleteOh Charles Rocket, we hardly knew ye....
ReplyDeleteYou like him. You really like him.

P.S. Jane Curtin? Kevin Nealon? Dana Carvey? And I think in a "you hear them and laugh" way, you have to put Farley on the list.

Geez, who thought that THIS profile would cause all this controversy.
