Levin may be the most successful Jewish competitive balloonist, but Larry Newman probably also deserves a mention: part of the crews of both the first Atlantic balloon crossing and the first Pacific balloon crossing.
Nice! (As an aside Lindbergh wasn't "the first man to fly across the Atlantic on an airplane". Rather he was the first to fly both solo and non-stop. The first successful flights were actually 8 years earlier.)
