Isn't "Tina" (which I've read is hear real first name too) a shortened form of "Christina"? Wonder if mother wasn't Jewish.....

ReplyDeleteLike some of the other Jewish beauties you have profiled (Hedy Lamarr, Ellen Michaels) Tina has another, more artistic dimension to her: she recorded several LPs in the 1950s, torch songs with a jazz touch (Coleman Hawkins is featured on one)that are in some circles collectors' items.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of old Jewish women, Laura Schlesinger ranted on the radio again, this time going all homophobic, and claimed being an Orthodox Jew. So, I guess, she is out of "Barely a Jew" category now and into the "Sadly, Oh So Sadly a Jew" one.
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad that Tina didn't embrace her "Gilligan's Island" fame and enjoy some of the perks of being infamous (most of the cast enjoyed 'mixing' with fans at Boat shows) which does attract guys with money... After all, a boat is simply a hole in the water to sink money into!
