Profile: Toni Braxton

Suggestion by the New York Times.

  1. For the Fourth of July: An American Hero

  2. From an email we got, it's quite possible she is making up the Jewish grandmother. Both grandparents on the father's side are black, the mother is referred to as a minister's daughter... So in what world would a black minister in South Carolina marry a Jew?

But then, why would she make up a Jewish grandmother?

  3. To advance herself in the music industry?
Generally an admission against interest is deemed more credible than a self-serving statement, at least in the law. In an anti-Semitic world acknowledging Jewish heritage is almost never self-serving and can be courageous, at times suicidal.
