Penn: Not a Jew.

Didn't know it until recently?Was his father not in the picture much? I've always read that his father was Jewish, mother not, but he wasn't raised Jewish (or anything).
Supposedly, he only learned of his Jewish roots at the age of 50.
So why is he "borderline", then (as opposed to "barely")? Is he exploring his Jewish side now and practicing?
Don't think he is practicing, but when someone is half Jewish and there is no hard evidence if they consider themselves a Jew or not, we go with Borderline...
