Profile: Tottenham Hotspur

Moishe (our resident soccer guy) is still aghast that I (our resident baseball guy) wrote this profile. But, hey, Moishe wrote Kitty Pryde, so I guess all of us are capable of branching out at least a little bit.

Spurs were suggested by Joseph from Massachusetts. Thanks Joseph!

  1. Tons and tons of jazz being played in Utah, countless older black guys sitting around blowing into brass instruments.

NBA, how about you change the name of the team when you go from New Orleans to Salt Lake City.

  2. The two top "Jewish" European soccer teams Tottenham & Ajax playing each other today at White Hart Lane Stadium in North London. Semifinals European Champions League.(big, big, big, important match!)
Don't know if true but I've been told that Tottenham supporters started calling themselves as the "Yid Army" in the 70s as a reaction against the desecration of graves in the Jewish section of Tottenham Park cemetery by rival team hooligans.

    Typical chant by Tottenham supporters...

    "We are the Army,
    The Yiddo Army,
    We're always singing,
    Thats why we're made,
We are the greatest football supporters,
That this world has ever had..."
